Nathalie Emmanuel (born in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, United Kingdom) is an English actor. She's best known as Missandei in the HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones (2011). Nathalie Emmanuel was born on Southend-on-Sea situated in Essex, England to parents from Saint Lucian, English and Dominican descendance. Nathalie says that she was inspired to be an actress in the beginning due to her mother. In the West End, she was chosen to play Young Nala at the age of 10-years-old. In 2006, she earned her TV debut by playing in the role of Sasha Valentine in the teen soap-opera Hollyoaks (1995). Emmanuel starred in the series up to 2010, as her stories featured the prostitution industry as well as heroin addiction. Nathalie hosted BBC Three's Web-sex : What's The Harm? which investigated the online sexual behavior of UK 16-24-year-olds. Also in that same year she made her film debut in the suspense film Twenty8.
